FAQs

General Questions

Is going to therapy or coaching a sign of weakness?  Not at all. Asking for support shows courage. Therapy and coaching provide a safe space to explore challenges, build strategies, and strengthen your resilience—whether in life, work, or sport.

How is this different from talking to a friend or family member? A licensed therapist or mental performance coach brings professional training and perspective. I offer guidance, teach skills, and listen without judgment, helping you set goals and create real-world growth.

How long are sessions? Individual therapy and athlete mental health sessions are 50-60 minutes. Trainings and workshops vary from 60–90 minutes, half-day, full-day, or multi-session.

How do I book a session? Complete the form on this page to contact me directly. Payment via credit/debit card is required at booking.

Do you accept insurance?  I currently accept Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, and Quest Behavioral Health for individual therapy and therapy for athletes.

What if I need to cancel? Cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid the full session fee. A 15-minute grace period applies; late cancellations or no-shows incur the session fee.

Can I get a good faith estimate? Yes. Upon request, I can provide a good faith estimate for budgeting or insurance reimbursement.

Athlete Mental Health & Performance

What is a Sport Social Worker? Sport social work combines mental health expertise with a deep understanding of sport culture and performance pressures. Social workers take a holistic perspective, assessing not just performance but the whole person including their mental health, relationships, environment, and identity. This approach helps identify how stress, team dynamics, and external pressures affect athletes, ensuring support goes beyond just skills or performance.

How does mental performance coaching work? Sessions focus on mindset, focus, emotional regulation, and resilience. They can be one-on-one, in groups, or performance-focused, tailored to the athlete’s age and level.

Does this replace my coach or therapist? No. Mental performance coaching complements athletic training and therapy, helping athletes manage pressure, stay focused, and perform consistently.
